SEU DUDU | OUT THERE, THERE ARE ONLY THOSE SOYBEAN AND CATTLE FIELDS LEFT
“I learned a lot from my dad, I paid a lot of attention to what he said. Because I'm the type of person, like an old parrot: first I just watch and pay attention to what others are saying, then I will analyze things, and only after this I can talk to the others, right?!
Once, I went to Mato Grosso do Sul, it has been almost 8 years, we were twelve people to take a course on the alligator management project, there in Cáceres (Mato Grosso state). From here to there, I was paying attention to everything, it was just forest and fields. And I said to my companions: ‘My God, we have to take care of our nature, our country, our Amazônia, because leaving here, there is nothing, pal. Out there, there are only those soybean and cattle fields left... For God’s sake! It's just cattle and soybean fields. Here we are in the beauty, we enter this forest there, you breathe in, it's another breath... It's another life. Thank God that everyone here takes care of the forest. In the other corner it’s fire, right?”
